TO BE EDITED/ PROOFED:
Our candle sand is crafted from highly purified plant-based wax, completely free of toxins, parabens or paraffin. Additionally, our candle wicks are made from natural cotton, ensuring that we offer the safest candle option.
Yes, our candle sand is plant-based, clean-burning, and pet-friendly. While they are not technically edible and involve burning with real fire, they are non-toxic and not expected to be harmful if a small amount is ingested. However, we recommend keeping them out of reach of pets. Additionally, it's reassuring to know that sand candles self-extinguish if accidentally spilled, as the wax granules snuffs the flame.
It’s important to burn our candle sand safely. Always within sight, away from children or pets, or near anything that can catch fire (drapes and linens). We also recommend putting your candle on a level, heat-resistant surface.
Besides the basics, believe it or not, there is a correct way to burn candle sand. Here are some best practices on how to burn your candles cleanly and safely!
1. Trim it.
Always, always, always trim the wick to ¼” before each burn to allow for a clean, even burn. This will also maximize the longevity of the candle. Your candle can burn up to 20% longer if you trim your wick regularly!
3. Clear the air.
Avoid vents, fans or drafts. These air currents will disturb the flame and may cause candles to burn unevenly.
4. Pace yourself.
Do not burn your candle for more than four hours at a time. Burning it longer may cause containers to overheat or the wax pool to get too deep.
6. Know when it's over.
All good things must come to an end. Discontinue use when ½ inch of unmelted wax remains to prevent containers from overheating. Container temperatures may rise when the heat gets “trapped” in the empty container when there is no wax left to absorb the excess heat. This can happen especially if burning for an extended period of time. Do not extinguish with water.
No, you can relight the same wick multiple times and burn it as long as it lasts. We provide a kit of wicks with every candle sand purchase so you can refresh your candle as often as you'd like to make it look new again. You can also cut the wick and re-use the part that hasn't been used yet or flip the wick to bury the melt pool for zero waste while still making your candle look brand new. Keep in mind that cutting the wick will shorten the burn time.
Additional packs of wicks can also be purchased separately, direct from our store.

TO BE EDITED:
Fragrance development is both an art and a science. We work with a leading fragrance house and master perfumers to develop our fragrance oils, which include natural essential oils, naturally-harvested fragrances, and safe synthetic ingredients. Synthetic ingredients enable a more expansive fragrance palette and sometimes serve as vegan and/or more sustainable alternatives to other natural ingredients, such as musks.
All of our fragrance oils are paraben and phthalate-free and adhere to strict international safety standards and testing procedures established by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA ) and are also Prop-65 compliant.
If your wick goes out quickly, it’s likely positioned too far above the surface.
To ensure proper burning, insert the wick so that only about 0.5 cm remains above the candle sand. If too much is exposed, it may burn unevenly or extinguish prematurely.
Absolutely! Our candle sand floats on water. Add decorations into a vase, fill it with water until the decor is submerged, and then pour FIKA HAUTE Candle Sand on top. Pour at least 3cm height of wax granules on top of the water, ensuring that the bottom of the wick does not touch the water.

Each wick burns for around 10 hours. Total burn time depends on how you use it - relighting wicks, adding more sand, using multiple wicks at once, and refreshing intervals all affect longevity.
As a reference: a 350gm tube can offer over 45 hours of burn time, often longer than traditional candles - depending on your usage habits.
